A Dixie Summer Soiree

The Dixie team is currently trudging through the 'dog days of summer' down in Birmingham, Alabama. These long humid days have all of us constantly on the hunt for the coolest gathering spots to escape the heat. Of course an icy cold beverage (preferably with a twist of lime!) in hand doesn't hurt either! Dixie's Creative Consultant, Holly Hollon's chic screened-in porch is just what we have in mind to achieve our mid-July cool-down! Holly, along with Dixie's Marketing Director Casey Snipes styled the most adorable summer soiree in Holly's rattan-clad porch along with an envy-inducing bar cart decked out in all of the necessities for a citrus-infused drink!

Dixie artist Inslee Farris' Exotic Chintz collection was the inspiration for this soiree's punchy and floral styling details. We love how Holly and Casey even used Inslee's design as a wine bottle cover! All of the beautiful spun fiberglass furniture pieces are from Mary and Wilma, a local "Floridian" home decor shop. We have linked the other source items below in case you are inspired to throw your own summer soirée before the chaotic days of fall arrive!

Huckleberry Collective's Palm Beach Brunch Tablescape

We adore this playful tablescape that Christina Brockman of Huckleberry Collective designed for a King’s Home fundraiser recently held in Birmingham, Alabama. For her Palm Beach Brunch-themed table, Christina chose paper details from our newest Peacock Chinoiserie Collection, featuring artwork by Dixie artist Shanna Masters.  The tablescape also features a stunning selection of hand-painted cookies from Sally’s Sweet Confections!

The combination of coral hues, rattan accents, bamboo flatware and citrus that Christina sprinkles throughout this table oozes that bright preppy Palm Beach aesthetic that we just love!

Summer Soirée

Last month, our friend Christina of Huckleberry Collective saw Veuve Clicquot's Rosé anniversary party in Paris on Instagram and was inspired to create the perfect backyard summer soirée. With the help of some fabulous vendors, she took the party to her back yard, and it was one of those you never wanted to end. From the frosé pops to the charcuterie board of your dreams, this styled shoot, turned wine night was perfection.

Dixie created the colorful invitation, menu and place cards and we love how they turned out!  You can shop the San Miguelito Vine Coral Collection by clicking this link.  And keep scrolling to see all the summery goodness Christina created for this fun party. We hope you are inspired to host your own soirée before summer ends!

Mr. McGregor's Secret Garden Party

Last fall we were so exited to partner with Texas-based event planning team, Cloche Designs, and Dixie artist Gina Langford to design custom paper goods for the Mr. McGregor’s Secret Garden Party held at The Argyle in San Antonio. From Save the Dates, to an eight page booklet invitation that included a small pocket for a map, to programs in the shape of the famous Argyle dessert paddle, we had the most wonderful time working with Cloche and Gina to design our most unique and spectacular custom project yet!

Laura Nell Burton and Christin Gish, the incredibly talented and fabulous ladies behind Cloche Designs, donated their time towards the design, planning and execution of this party. The garden party was a celebration of the ribbon-cutting for the newly remodeled Jackie's Playhouse, a San Antonio historic landmark located on the grounds of the The Argyle. Cloche's planning efforts raised over $180,000 for the construction of the playhouse as well as towards the Texas Biomedical Research Institute. The team at Cloche also oversaw the remodel and redecoration process of the Playhouse.

The afternoon was the dreamiest combination of an elegant garden party while still maintaining a magical and lighthearted atmosphere for the invited children. The festivities included a treasure hunt for a golden key to unlock the newly renovated Playhouse. We love the vintage-style Beatrix Potter books that Cloche prepared as party favors for the guests and the live bunnies that were hopping around the party! Be sure to head over to Cloche's blog for the complete set of photos from the day.

The best part for our Dixie friends is that we have created a Garden Party Collection for you!  It's one of our largest collections to date, so make sure you click HERE to shop and order!

The party took place on the lawn of The Argyle, a private dining club in San Antonio, Texas where Jackie’s Playhouse is also located.

These precious bunnies went home as prizes for the winners of the golden egg treasure hunt!

Children gathered around a storyteller to hear Beatrix Potter tales.

Continuing the theme of Mr. McGregor's stunning is this buffet of fresh vegetables? Guests were also served a Southern supper of fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and macaroni and cheese.

This beautiful fondant cake was created by a pastry artisan that Cloche found in Australia!

The children were invited to snack on these Beatrix Potter cookies in addition to fresh, pink cotton candy spun by The Argyle.

Vintage Beatrix Potter books were at every seat as favors for all of the guests.

Cloche's Laura Nell Burton and Christin Gish with Jackie Beretta, the original 'Jackie' of Jackie's Playhouse, who performed the ribbon cutting for the grand opening of the new playhouse.

The beautiful interior of Jackie's Playhouse....what all little girls' dreams are made of! To read about and see more of the redesign process, head over to Cloche's blog post here.

Jackie used engraved golden scissors for her official ribbon cutting duty.

Once the ribbon was cut, the children set out to find the golden key to unlock the playhouse! Four golden eggs were also found during the treasure hunt, the winners claimed their bunnies (pictured above), Flopsy, Mopsy, Cotton Tail, and Peter!
