Paper Petals Plates Tablescape Series: Watercolor

This sleek and modern tablescape at our Paper Petals Plates event was inspired by Dixie artist Laura McCarty's Watercolor Wedding Suite. This wedding suite (featured at the bottom of this post) includes soothing blue hues of a modern watercolor wash and wreath motif paired with classic typography.  Sarah Elizabeth Cleveland of Repertoire Assistant Services beautifully translated the unique elements of this suite into a soft and elegant tablescape.

Sarah Elizabeth picked up the cool blue tones in her napkins and then used coordinating gray and white elements throughout the rest of the place setting.  Sarah Elizabeth designed the flower arrangements low in height and loose in structure pairing them with sleek candle votives to echo the minimalistic style of the Watercolor suite. We love the clean lines and fuss-free feel of this table...just right for the bride who wants to achieve a contemporary feel at her wedding!

Paper Petals Plates Tablescape Series: Naples

With Spring Break and warm weather just over the horizon for the Dixie team, we have been dreaming all things tropical. This table from our Paper Petals Plates Tablescape Series oozes beach vacation vibes, and its design inspiration began with Holly Hollon's  Naples Wedding Suite (pictured at the bottom of this post). Holly designed this suite with not only a Palmetto Bluff wedding in mind, but also thinks it would be perfectly suited for a Florida tropics wedding.

Kathleen Cook Varner of Edna K. Designs seamlessly transitioned Holly's paper designs onto this tablescape. Kathleen designed a table with the ability to transport guests to their own personal tropical oasis. Also the table's florist, Kathleen incorporated the palms from Holly's designs and mixed them with ferns and a very subtle amount of soft pink and white floral flourishes in the towering centerpiece.

The Heather Chadduck table linen beautifully showcases a palm-like graphic that grounds the handcrafted Susan Gordon Pottery salad and dinner plates. Susan Gordon also creatively utilized the graceful heron crest in the Naples collection onto coasters. The stunning pink glassware finishes off the table with a sophisticated and modern touch.

Paper Petals Plates Tablescape Series: Wildflower

Gina Langford's Wildflower wedding suite, with its watercolor florals blooming from the top of a classic French blue crest, was the inspiration behind this show-stopping tablescape designed by Meghan Elizabeth Cease of M. Elizabeth Events.

As in the Wildflower wedding paper, the flowers had to be the showcase of the table. Florist Britt Wood designed a loose, yet stately arrangement of petal pink roses, spring green hydrangeas with wispy English Ivy draping the table as the base of this piece. Green orchids popped throughout this floral centerpiece, while tall spires of white crowned the top adding height.

The french blue table cloth seamlessly coordinated with the French blue border on the table's menu cards. The elegant place settings were kept to a simple and refined palette with the beautiful gold-rimmed glass chargers and vintage baroque white dinner and dessert plates. We love the mini champagne bottles included at each place setting - perfect for that first toast to the newly married couple!

Paper Petals Plates Tablescape Series: Rosalie

Decked out in the blush tones of a soft muted sunrise, the Rosalie table at our Paper Petals Plates event was every bit as beautiful as the wedding paper collection that inspired this tablescape. Dixie artist Gina Langford's  graceful watercolored blossoms that border the invitations of the Rosalie collection (pictured at the bottom of this post) are echoed in the blooms of the stunning topiary centerpiece on this table.

This table's designer and florist, Melanie Hughes of The Pink Pear, incorporated an array of creamy hydrangeas, blush garden roses, bunches of pink miniature sweetheart roses, melon Gerber Daisies, spires of deep pink Snapdragons, silver and gray greenery, Elaeagnus, and Eucalyptus throughout this stunning arrangement. The topiary's trunk rested in a bed of Dusty Miller. We love the pink ribbon streamers Melanie tied to the lower flowers of the arrangement - they remind us of a May Pole!

Melanie was able to continue the blush pink tones throughout the table in several other lovely aspects such as the spectacular rosette patterned table cloth and the beautiful Anthropologie dinner plates. We adore how she included a melon-hued Gerber Daisy at each place setting for napkin rings.

Paper Petals Plates Tablescape Series: Laurel

The inspiration for this elegant table at our Paper Petals and Plates event was drawn from designer Lydia Carraway’s “Laurel” wedding paper collection. This collection (pictured at the bottom of this post) features a calming blue-gray palette and buds ready to bloom. The natural and soothing feel of this paper is carried over effortlessly into this table's design. Bromberg's, the table's designer, worked to ensure the table's linens, china, and floral arrangements all emitted a traditional, yet tranquil feel.

The Garnier Thiebaut Palazzina Fusain tablecloth and napkins transported guests to another world with their romantic silver illustrations of a stunning Tuscan palace. The Tuscany theme continues on the Richard Ginori Fiesole dinner plates which also picture an Italian-setting, but this time in the countryside.

Mandy Busby, the table's florist, used only five different florals in her centerpiece to keep the color palette simplistic. The flowers included Tibet stem roses, Majolica spray roses, Calcynia (the small white flowers), and various greenery. It was very important to Mandy that the piece felt very organic, as if the flowers and the greens naturally grew from the iron form. The hanging glass votives added the final touch of elegance to the piece.

Paper Petals Plates Tablescape Series: Gild

Christine Carrier's  Gild Wedding Suite was the inspiration for this lovely table at our Paper Petals Plates event. The Florentine Building, located in Downtown Birmingham and known for its stunning architectural details and light-filled ballroom, set the stage beautifully for our night.  Michael Sanchez, the Florentine's in-house florist, designed this table using an array of gold and pink hues for an overall glamorous look.

The dramatic stair-stepped floral centerpieces are filled with maidenhair and foxtail fern, an exotic palette of roses, and punctuated with plumes of fuchsia cockscomb. The intricate golden layer of chargers, plates, and flatware echo the delicate "Gilded" greenery vines and wreaths of the inspiration paper (scroll to the bottom to view and shop the Gild Wedding Suite). The soft petal pink linens grounding this table pack the design's final "pretty in pink" punch.

Paper Petals Plates Tablescape Series: Classic Cross

Invision Events designed a table that exuded simplicity and elegance at our Paper Petals Plates event. Drawing their inspiration from Sarah Robbins Powell's delicate borders and refined typography in her Classic Cross wedding paper collection, Invision Events kept to a classic and timeless color palette. Florist Buffy Hargett used all white and spring green in the tables' florals leading to a soothing aesthetic. Pops of black details, from the mini champagne bottles to the ribbon edged tailored napkins provided just the right contrast to the table's airiness.

Like the Classic Cross' clean and elegant designs (pictured at the bottom of this post), the various elements of this tablescape harmonize seamlessly. The glass floral vases and the beautiful Waterford crystal stemware make the table seem weightless. The gold flatware and the Royal Crown Derby in Aves Gold chargers give the table a graceful formality. The floral flourishes on the pears is one of our favorite details.

Paper Petal Plates Tablescape Series: Songbird

Vaughan Spanjer’s charming bird illustrations blossomed to life in this English garden party tablescape by florist, Sarah Peinhardt. Sarah created a gorgeous towering moss and topiary centerpiece which perfectly set a romantic and classic, yet organic tone for the table. Various shades of pink roses entwine grapevines on top of a black wrought iron base.

The bold pink linens and Anna Weatherly delicate fine china atop the moss placemats beautifully juxtapose bold color with more natural elements found throughout the table. The adorable wooden place card holders are one of our favorite details. We can only imagine a flurry of songbirds dancing around this table in an English garden.

Paper Petal Plates Tablescape Series: Bougainvillea

This bold and colorful tablescape inspired by our Bougainvillea wedding suite has us ready for paradise! The vibrant mix of bright purple hydrangeas, hot pink and tropicana roses with deep yellow floral accents surrounding a large palm in the centerpiece gives the perfect festive, tropical air to the table. Table designer and Birmingham-based wedding planner Handley McCrory paired Marigold Design’s colorful floral arrangements with equally vivid placesettings. Handley mixes various shades of teal, fuchsia, yellow, and ice blue Herend gold-rimmed chargers with Anna Weatherley’s gold banded dinner plates. Gold flatware and crisp blue linen napkins finish off the place setting and we also loved the bright green glassware that was the final punch of color to top this table.

Dixie artist Gina Langford's Bougainvillea flowering vine illustrations certainly came to life in the design of this table at our Paper Petals Plates event. Bougainvillea pairs Gina's colorful budding floral crest with graphic blue and white stripes throughout the wedding suite alongside clean and classic typography. We love to envision a vivacious bride who has never shied away from making bold, sophisticated statements using this suite as her wedding paper.

Paper Petal Plates Tablescape Series: Campagne

The Dixie Design team certainly has an affinity for all things blue and white. So it was no surprise that we were immediately drawn to this gorgeous tablescape that donned a French blue linen with white lace overlay. A delicate metallic thread woven on top of the overlay emitted the slightest shimmer in the fabric. The table linens' elegance allowed table lead Kalee Baker to carry through a romantic and tailored theme with metallic and ruffled elements throughout her design. The Annieglass gold ruffled chargers beautifully frame the Herend Fish Scale dinner plates and the custom Sasha Nicholas salad plates. The mercury glass vases and the Juliska Florentine Gypsy Gold napkins give the table additional metallic dimensions.

The inspiration for this exquisite table at our Paper Petals Plates event was drawn from designer Holly Hollon's "Campagne” wedding paper collection which features hand-drawn illustrations inspired by vintage French ephemera and a blue and gold color palette accompanied by delicate typography. The Campagne suite may be customized to the bride's color preference.
